GP Registrar Opportunities
Come and train with our friendly team in the pretty market town of Bridgnorth!
We are an experienced training practice who have been training GP registrars since vocational training in Shropshire began! We have a fantastic new practice building, with excellent facilities for the registrar including a dedicated registrar room and built in videoing facilities.
There are nine partners and one salaried GP. Between them they have a wealth of experience to draw on, including special interests in; Antenatal care, Child Health, Diabetes, Endoscopy, ENT, Gynaecology, Minor Surgery, Palliative Care and Urology. One of the partners is also a family planning trainer. We also have an experienced nurse team, with a nurse practitioner and nurse triage of all same day calls. In addition, we have a brilliant reception team and IT team. We are a "paperless" practice, and very forward thinking regarding IT in primary care, and have a comprehensive Intranet.
The practice is linked with Bridgnorth Community Hospital, with its extensive new development. This provides an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience during your training, and really get involved in the local community. The Hospital has 25 inpatient beds and a minor injuries unit, which the practice looks after. The Hospital also has a good range of diagnostic facilities, along with outpatient clinics, physio, OT, day theatres and a midwife delivery unit.
We strive to provide a safe educational environment for you to develop your new skills in general practice. We hope to strike a balance between preparing you for your nMRCGP and providing a holistic education experience to expand your clinical and life skills.
But it's not all just work, work, work, we pride ourselves on being a fun and sociable practice. Doctors and staff join in a number of social events (curry nights, quiz nights, BBQ, rowing competitions, skittles evening and conker championship!) so be prepared to take part!
If you are interested in joining us, please contact the practice manager, on 01746 767121 or by e-mail bridgnorth.medicalpractice@nhs.net. She would also be delighted to put you in touch with our registrar or trainer if you would like further information.
